A gateway to the Grand Canyon National Park, Flagstaff's
unblemished natural beauty is complemented by an expansive arts scene
surprising for the town's size. Though the canyon is by far the area's
most popular outdoor destination, other national parks focusing on
both natural scenery and ancient human habitations abound in the nearby
region. Southwestern heritage thrives in the city, anchored by the

economy, the presence of Northern Arizona University has contributed

On June 28, 2008, at approximately 5 P.M., Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a report of missing hikers in the Crown King / Lane Mountain area off of Forest Service Road 52.
